The mind I love most must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in heavy grass, an overgrown little wood, the chance of a snake or two, a pool that nobody's fathomed the depth of, and paths threaded with flowers planted by the mind.

The clinical psychology services available through my practice are broadly classified into two categories. These are assessment services and psychotherapy.

ASSESSMENT SERVICES

Clinical and psychological assessments are important services which are used to help develop an understanding of a client or patients’ presenting difficulties. They are needed to properly contextualise development and / or life adjustment difficulties, and are critical in identifying specific areas of clinical interest as well as to accurately diagnose psychological difficulties and / or psychiatric illness.

Three different types of psychological and mental health functioning assessments are provided through my practice. These are:

  • clinical assessments
  • psychodiagnostic assessments
  • psychometric assessments

All clients and patients who contract for psychotherapy or psycholegal services by default undergo a psychological and mental health assessment as part of the specific services for which they have contracted.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

I offer both brief and longer-term psychotherapy for adolescents (from 16 years of age) and adults in either individual or group settings. My practice orientation is informed by an integrative psychodynamic framework – this approach places emphasis on a strong collaborative therapy relationship which facilitates a more generous, in-depth therapeutic inquiry.

My professional interests include working with individuals who experience personal difficulties or distress associated with:

  • trauma and loss
  • anxiety and stress
  • mood difficulties including anger, depression and bipolar mood related conditions
  • parental mental health
  • relationship difficulties
  • transitional or life-change challenges, including parenthood, separation, mid-life, career, and existential related challenges.
