The mind I love most must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in heavy grass, an overgrown little wood, the chance of a snake or two, a pool that nobody's fathomed the depth of, and paths threaded with flowers planted by the mind.
Katherine Mansfield
Research on the psychological processes within corporate environments suggest that underlying (collective) dynamics significantly influence corporate functioning (and outcomes). These processes and dynamics manifest internally within an organisation, such as between individual employees or different teams or departments and divisions, and also externally such as between the organisation and its’ clients and external stakeholders including suppliers, shareholders, civil society, etc.
The corporate consultancy opportunities available through this practice are specifically designed to assist corporate partners further develop their awareness of these processes and dynamics, and to better understand how such underlying dynamics influence their own corporate functioning – thus allowing management teams and decision makers to better limit dynamic blind-spots and improve functional decision-making.
PSYCHOLOGICAL LITERACY
Psychological literacy is broadly related to an individuals’ or groups’ level of awareness of different psychological process and dynamics, and operationally encapsulates the capacity to understand oneself and others through the application of basic human development and behaviour principles, in different personal, social, and work environments. This proposition is supported by research, which suggests that psychologically literate individuals and groups have a greater ability to function and thrive in individual relationships, as well as in the collective environments in which they live and work.
In promoting psychological literacy the PsyQ Psychological Literacy Development Programme offers an 8-week experiential training programme for individual corporate clients who wish to develop their psychological literacy skills. The programme is specifically designed to introduce participants to key psychological principles, and offers participants the opportunity to identify underlying processes and dynamics within their own corporate environment(s) and to gain insight into how these processes and dynamics frustrate or promote corporate functioning, and ultimately corporate commercial objectives.
